Saturday’s Volunteer Fest will connect Mobilians to local organizations

The Mobile Parks and Recreation Department wants to make it easy for Mobilians to connect with local organizations doing incredible work in our community.

MPRD’s Volunteer Fest will be held at Medal of Honor Park on Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event will be a great opportunity to have fun and learn more about local organizations that depend on volunteers to serve our community. Nearly a dozen organizations will be present to discuss volunteer opportunities across the city. Participants can drop in any time to learn more about the various ways they can use their time and talents to make a positive impact on the Port City.

If you want to give back but aren’t sure where to start, this is the perfect event. Volunteer Fest on April 20 will offer something that everyone in Mobile can get passionate about. Some of the organizations represented at Volunteer Fest will include the American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama, USA Children and Women's Hospital, United Way of South Alabama, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of South Alabama, Feeding the Gulf Coast, the City of Mobile Animal Services Department and the MPRD Patriot Volunteers.
